Default Direction of cooling system flow?

Doing a 6.0 swap in my 81z. Is the factory 6.0 a standard flow or reverse flow(like LT1).

I'm not sure how it would make life easier or harder.
The reverse flow cooling of the LT1 was a completely internal thing. There is nothing on the outside of the engine that changes whether the engine is reverse flow cooled or not, so it's completely invisible to the person using the engine.

Kind of a confusing question I guess???

It makes it easier(I think) because I can use my stock 81 rad.

Yes you'll be able to use your stock radiator just fine. But just for information purposes you could also use your stock radiator for an LT1 swap, or an LT1 radiator for your 6.0 swap. My only point was that nothing changed as far as the radiator is concerned with the reverse flow LT1. That only meant that water was pumped into the heads first, and then the block, instead of the block, and then the heads. They thought by pumping the cooler water into the heads first, they could control detonation better with high compression ratios.

Externally nothing was changed. It was one of many unusual features that the LT1 engine had.

Anyway, good luck with your project. Don't forget to tee the 6.0 coolant purge line into your return cooling system when you are finished!

Thanks for the help John. I was under the assumption that an LT1 had to use a rad designed for reverse cooling and wasn't too sure how the LSx engines were cooled. I've read lots of good things about your swap harnesses and I'll be choosing Speratech when it comes to mine.
