Which tranny for this project?
After much thought, Ive decided to put together a toy. I really like the idea of the Syclone or Typhoon.
So why not build an LS1 or LS2 powered clone? I know that the Syclone and the Typhoon use the same transfer case as the Astrovan and Bravada, But which tranny would be best?
200r
700r
4L60e
4L80e?
That 402 LS2 shortblock that SDPC is offering looks mighty tempting! Build that sucker up to around 500 RWHP and drop it in an AWD truck! That would be an awesome stoplight to stoplight machine! Im sure a motor that strong would require some beefed up axels and what not. DOnt know if Id build something with that much power, but it seems like a helluva idea.
Thanks for any suggestions!

thats the INSANE version of what I was thinking! It has a 4l60 trans. From the sounds of it, youd have to have a deeper trans pan to hold more fuild so the trans doesnt burn from lack of fluid upon heavy accelleration.
