Unhappy I need Help!!!!!

OK, here it goes. I just finished installing my ls1 in a Nissan 240sx. The problem is that the motor won't crank. I'm not getting any spark to the coils. The ECU has been reprogramed and I'm stumped. The EGR is disabled, so are the 02 sensors, theft deturent, all the important stuff (I THINK). It turns over but won't start. Has anyone else had this problem if so can you help? I will take any help you can give.

1)99' Camaro SS motor

2)LS1 wiring harness

If it were me, I'd get a pinout of the engine wiring and start by checking all the power and ground connections to the PCM with the PCM disconnected. Use a needle, small nail (don't damage the pin socket!) or an old pin and proble the red and blue connectors.

If that checks out, start checking the connectors that go to the coil packs for power and ground, then check the power to the injectors. If I'm not mistaken the injectors are powered off of the switch and the PCM grounds them to energize them.

When I've had these type of problems, I almost always find it is a ground or power lead that I've forgotten to hook up properly, you just need to find it.

Good luck,

Phil

I am a little confused on you post. In the first part you say the motor won't crank. Later you say it will crank but it won't start. Since you say that it isn't getting any spark, you must be able to crank it. Can you clarify?

If it will crank and fire for a fraction of a second, that usually means that the VATS isn't working right, but you obviously have spark and fuel. On my car, if I pull the VATS box off the harness, that's what it will do.

If there is just cranking and no firing at all (which is what your description sounds like), then the PCM isn't powering up or is improperly grounded (or something more serious is wrong) and you should start by checking the pinouts on the connector side of the PCM.

You might try using this pinout if you don't have one already-
