Default Headers for 2nd Gen? Anyone?

Just got the motor to fire today for the first time. Right now, just using the stock manifolds. Does anyone know of any long tube headers that will work with the 2nd gen using the BRP kit that fit without mods.

Theres a post on here not too long ago, that said he got some jethots to fit. Just needed some massaging of one of the passanger side primaries. Never did post up pictures of the collector to frame rail clearance though.

I will be finding out if the Edelbrock victor series will fit pretty soon. Just need to get of my lazy butt and get them ordered up.

I've been toying with the idea of swapping in a LS1 into my 79 Z . LesRacer do you have a website or pics of your swap?

As has been mentioned earlier my Hooker LT's have a little clearance problem on the pass. side . But I need to raise the car a little because my pics aren't turning out well- I'm no pro with a camera either, that's for sure. Again I don't know about the BRP mounts I used a copy of the S&P mount and because I already had the LT's from my SS it was a no brainer to use them and knowing what the LT's did to my LS1 (22-24 RWHP) AND THE SOUND there was no way I was going to put the stock F-body manifolds. Had I not had the LT's I would've tried the Schoenfeld Headers(479)474-7529 - they're supposed to fit on 2nd gen. with LS1 and they're pretty damn cheap ($299). Once I have the car running I might go with the urethane mounts which will relieve the clearance somewhat, I don't know until I get to that point. It is strange the entire motor/trans seems to be much closer to the pass. side of the car - I know it's like that from the factory as well but more so I think in this case .

Nothing was too overly hard, just required some fabrication and patience.
