Default Help- No spark PUZZLER

Hello. I can't seem to get spark at the plugs. The cam and crank sensors are plugged in and the connectors for each bank's coils are seeing 12V. The fuel pump energizes for 2 seconds after turning the key to the on position and after cranking. Fuel pressure is good. I can connect to the PCM via HPTuners and all looks good so I think the PCM is fine.
I am using homemade coil mounts, but I've grounded the coil mounts and the valve cover to the chassis. I don't have a ground running directly to the heads, just the block (I'm using a metal headgasket).

Engine cranks fine, fuel looks good, HPTuners shows 90-175 rpm while cranking.......HELP!!!!

Thanks!
Ben

This sounds like it might be a VATS problem. Did you disable the security in the PCM to over ride the chip in the key?

VATS, CAGS, EGR, AIR have all been disabled.
Even so, I was under the impression that the car would start and run for a couple seconds before VATS stepped in?

Thanks.

Do you have a ground running to the coil packs as well. There is a ground wire in the coil pack harness. The A pin on the main connector for each bank is a ground. The A pin on each coil connector should be a ground as well. Are you should you have the low reference hooked up on both banks? Should be pins 60 and 61 on the red connector. I think you may or maynot have covered this but I am just making sure. The other wire going to each coil pack should just be a ground signal from the PCM to "fire" the coil pack. Just making sure the brackets are grounded doesn't mean anything. The coil itself is actually made of a material that insulates it, so that ground wire in the harness must be hooked up.

Thanks for the reply (I've been checking constantly for replies!).

Checking the grounds on the coils is my next step and I'll get to that Thursday night when I get back from work. I'm crossing my fingers that the grounds are somehow to blame.

Anyone know of an easy way to verify that the coils are working?

Thanks
Ben

Like I said, I think it's a ground signal. I'm uncertain though. The fuel injectors work off a ground so one would deduce that the PCM provides a ground to fire the coil. I would check with a LED or a Multimeter first while cranking to make sure. It is probiably a ground like I said but it MAY be a hot. Probiably just tapping the coil wire from the PCM to a ground should fire it. I'll look to see what the proper service procedure is
