what to do 1st? Computer or heads,cam,etc What should I do 1st? I'm trying to set up my '69 Camaro. The motor and trans are already mounted. I'd like to get it started. Should i send the computer and harness off now? Will I have to send the computer off again once i add the heads, cam, and intake?
Are you going to add the stuff before you have it on the road? If so just trust that it will run and hold off till you get the mods done. I am still waiting for the tire size on my car so I dont want to screw around and need to have some one enter that in. Cant drive it till it is finished and comp. and harness go in fast.
I'd have waited to install the cam, but it was easier to do with the motor on the engine stand at the time. I'd personally get it running as it stock, but if you swap a cam it should run ok with the stock tune. It takes less than a day to do the cam swap anyway, so it's no huge deal since the motor is already in the car. Plus we have more room than the 4th gen cars under the hood. I still haven't ran my fuel system and done some of the electrical, so mine has a little way to go.

Why not just get your harness done and purchase HPtuners for keeping your computer updated with your mods? It's not but a couple of hundred bucks more than most mail order tunes and you can get some of your money back doing tunes on other people's cars.You'll have delete the VATS in the PCM to get it to start anyways and Speartech can redo your existing harness at a reasonable price. If you have a laptop or a friend with a laptop, buy the HPtuners and you're set!
