3rd gen LS1 air cleaner I am using a TPI intake with K&n filters. I have been told this is too restrictive for a LS1 and is costing me horsepower. What are your thoughts and what are you using.

I am using a conversion cold air kit from fbodymotorsports.com. I found the distributer that sells parts that you can make your own, but I cant seem to find anything with a 3.5 inch diameter which is what is usually being used, that the conversion cold air kit comes with. I would say a 4" to 3.5" 90 degree elbow like so
Then the MAF attaches to that, then about 1.5-2 feet of 3" metal tubing
attached to the MAF with a small piece of 3.5" rubber tubing Then a 45 degree 3.5" rubber elbow is attached to the metal tubing This is also where I put my IAT sensor.
Then another small piece of metal intake tubing about 6" long
Then a K&N air filter with a 3.5 inch opening. All in all by the time you piece all the parts together its probably easier to buy it off of fbodymotorsports.com. Ill try and get a pic of mine when I go home next weekend.
