fuel systems... anybody in California? Smog an issue? well i just made a trip to Cali to talk face to face with a Referee. It was a great experience, the guy was ultra cool and was full of great info. First of all, the fuel tank, evap, and cats are not part of the conversion, they are part of the chassis and can remain, now keep in mind the engine has to be happy with those parts. obviously the cats will have to change to keep the stupid check engine light off. EVAP... this is a different story, as long as the computer is programmed for, and operates as if the cars system was designed to do, well thats fine too. and last but not least, my biggest hurdle to over come in my conversions, the dang fuel system. i can not run a GM fuel pump, sender, and fuel tank pressure sensor in my Porsche plastic tanks, its just not do able. so installing a return system was my only choice or so it seemed, well i thought of a neat little piece out there, its called a return style fuel pressure regulator, your fuel pressure goes in one hole, regulated to 40 some odd pounds out another hole, and guess what??? the excess pressure out to the tank via the "cars" return system. the motor is still using its "returnless" system just like they want it to and the Porsche, or what ever your using doesnt have to change. i have
