97 LS1 Swap...

97 LS1 Swap... I just wanted to introduce myself to the board... I haven't posted before, just watched... but I have some questions! 
I have a few LS1's I can get my hands on locally... I have a 1997 Camaro RS... it has the 3.8 in it now... I know about the need to upgrade the suspension, and that the AC would have to be altered... I am guessing the mounts are different, and that I can't use the transmission cross member (I have a Manual 5spd now...). My camaro has the newer style interior dash... and I am wondering how much wiring would be needed... can I just remove the motor wiring and engine, and use the wiring and computer provided from the yard, or is there a lot of altering to connect it to the interior wiring...? Can still just keep the interior wiring as is? I already did a t-top conversion on this car, power locks, windows and mirriors (all of which only cost me ~$550...). I picked up a set of used SS ZR1 rims for $250, SS spoiler (duck tail type) for $100. And got the car in mint condition for $1500... so I feel I should do her some justice and swap in something to make her move now
