66 skylark and a 4.8
The rest should be about the same as the what the chevelle guys are doing.
You'll need fuel system stuff like the pump/baffled tank etc.
Make sure you get the harness with the motor. A new one will run you over $500 to be fabbed up.
I have an 83 el camino that I used an LT1 Fbody radiator, fits great.
Not sure what will fit in your chassis, but it's something to consider.
You'll definitely need money. O2 sensors, misc connectors, nuts and bolts, exhaust work, Driveshaft, it all adds up in the end. But if you keep the car for any appreciable amount of time it will pay for itself.
Especially as gas prices rise.
I have the 01 and 02 truck PCM pinouts if you need them.
PM me.
Truck serpentine is slightly deeper than the f body counterparts, and it mounts the alternator high on the driver's side.
I have no problem with the 4.8 in the el camino, but it has a ton of room in the bay.
Just measure it, that should give you general dimensions.
Plus you can always adjust slightly since this will be a custom fit. That engine bay was never designed to swallow a gen iii motor.
Depending on the cross member, you can adjust for and aft with the mount placement.
I'd try to search for the chevelle guys' old posts. It's been done before, so you won't have to re-invent the wheel.
