A/C conversion experts LS1 vs LT1 compressor
A/C conversion experts LS1 vs LT1 compressor I need help to confirm what to do with my A/C system. The car is a 95 Camaro V6 that was converted to an LS1 out of a 01 TA.
To the best of my knowledge the compressor is from the TA but the rest of the system is from the V6. I believe the V6 is a reciever / dryer system. And the TA is an accumulator system.
My question is will these work together? I think that the compressors have reversed pressure and suction outlets, between the two different systems, but have not confirmed it yet.
If they are reversed would I be able to adapt a compressor from a V6 or LT1 to the LS1?
Black leather interior with no A/C on power tour = misery.

The compressor is just a pump, it doesn't really care how you control pressures...just as long as you control it somehow. Some GM systems use a "variable displacement" compressor to regulate head pressure, some use a cycling system which uses switches to cycle the clutch off and on....still another method used is an expansion valve system with pressure switches as well. The 2001 TA compressor can be controlled by cycling easiest I believe, I am using this equipment on my conversion so.....stay tuned.

i think thats gonna be the hardest part of my swap. the lines are no biggy but the controls and all that jazz. i've heard of some aftermarket AC systems that some hotrodders use. ever heard of that?
could i just some how tie the LS1 AC lines into the current lines to avoid that kind of hassle? this is gonna get complicated.
