VSS Setup for 3rd gen Firebird Speedo
VSS Setup for 3rd gen Firebird Speedo I just finished my LT1 swap with a T56 in my '86 Firebird. I have a '91 dash in the car so I could get the electric speedo. On the speedometer itself it has something that says 1000 rev .1 mile, does anyone know what I would have to program the PCM with (using Tunercat) so the speedo would work properly and get it close (I can live with 2-3 mph off). The car does not have the cruise control hooked up, running 3.42 gears and 235/60/15 tires on the car.

All of the late model instrument clusters are set up to operate at 4000 PPM, and the PCM's are set up to output that same pulse rate. Just program the PCM with your actual gear ratio and tire size and your speedo should be right on.
