5.3 flexplate.. with spacer between flexplate and converter.. enlongate holes for converter bolts

or

6.0 (4l80e) flexplate with spacer between crank and flexplate (as it's flat) and holes should line up for th350/th400 converter, they did in my case.

im confused. when you buy the flexplate, does it come with the spacer (2 pieces) or are you talking about the spacer intergrated into the flywheel (1 piece) ?

The 6.0L flat flex plate has the spacer attached or "pressed" on the back side. It usually stays with the flex plate when you remove it. Its not one piece.

If you had a 5.3L curved flex plate never used the spacer in stock form.

So if you buy a used flat one it should have a spacer already, Now if you buy new I am not sure if the spacer comes with it as I have always just ran a used one.

Notethe one on the right with the shorter crank bolts is the curved 5.3L one. The flat flex plate is on the left note the longer bolts and spacer.

i just bought a spacer for another project today from the dealer. retail is 53.39. my cost was 40.04. whoever paid 85 bucks for a gm spacer got ripped.

as for the spacer comming off with the flywheel, never seen that happen.
spacer is always stuck to the crank. ive taken off several. probably at least 5.

Pace has the spacer for 20 bucks plus shipping. just my 2 cents, why pay 50 bucks for a spacer when you can get it way cheaper somewhere else

Merv, what kind of headers are you using? And I want to make sure I have read this thread correctly, the spacer should be in between the plexplate and the converter, and the lq4 that I will be getting soon should have the spacer and flexplate already bolted?
