Default will a stock radio work without bcm

I was asked to post and see if anyone knows how to make a stock radio work in a car without a ls1 bcm? He is doing a dash swap into a 61 impala and wants it all to look stock. Any info on how to get it to work would be great

Thanks,
..RJ..

what do you have to do to get it to work? Wil it ask for the code when powered up? then just enter the code or is there something special that ha to be done?

if the code was set when the radio was powered down, you'll NEED that code to use the radio.

if the code was never set (it isnt most of the time) then it'll work like any other radio.
