Default two fuseable links off the alternator

anyone know what these are tied into? i'm having trouble with one of them poping ever so often. say once a week out of no where i'll use an accessory such as the window or otherwise and the car will die, leading to one of these fuses popping. just trying to track it down.

Default Increase the supply wire size to the system....

I think you need to look at this from a different perspective.

Every item that is powered in your car should be fed from a fuse in the fuse block for protection. The fuseable link to the altinator is another safety item.

Fuses or breakers always protects the load and its wiring not the line side so if for example the window motor blows the fuse then one should look from the fuse to the wiring to the motor and the motor.

Now the fuseable link is the main power line to the whole system or at least a portion of the system. If none of the fuses are blowing due to a fault of that circuit wiring or motor then there is another issue. That issue is that the total load of all the circuits that that fuseable link feeds is exceeding its wire size capability. So if more and more things have been added to the car's fuse block even though its fuse has been properly sized for that single circuit then the total power requirements that is being fed by that single fuseable link has been exceeded and it is burning open as designed.

Now another thing to know is that motors when initially starting up create a sharp power spike then settles down to a normal power level. If a fuse or a fuseable link is at its limit then a motor spike could be just enough to burn it open. If a motor has reached its mechanical limit but is allowed to still be powered then the power will increase as it tries to drive thus increasing the amperage in the system and could blow fuses.

So if the whole system is working and this fuseable link is the only thing that is randomly burning open then the solution is to increase the wire size from the altinator to the fusebox. The new larger wire will be capable of supplying more current. You should be able to get a fuseable link for that new wiresize for continued protection.

I hope this helps

NOTE: Motors should have a bleeder diode across the motor wires in a DC system to bleed off the energy after the motor shuts off. Without this bleeder diode the stored current will shoot off into the circuit. As you have found if the fuseable link is at its amperage limit then a sharp spike of a motor starting and is feedback spike when it is stopped could push it over the edge. Again the issue is the main fuseable link must be at its limit which is why it is blowing.
