p/s going to coolant hose?

p/s going to coolant hose?

can i take the powersteering lines off the coolant hose? never noticed this before.

Yep, That is nothing but a cooler for the PS fluid. They had some problems with the Power steering acting up when it got hot, so they installed this cooler on it. Depending on the final weight of your car, you may not need it.

figured i could just use one of those in line coolers.thanks

The one mounted in the coolant hose is more efficient than a air type cooler.. Just an FYI..

That's subject to debate, and your operating conditions.

Yes, oil to water type heat exchanger is more effective at transferring heat per unit area / flow rate.

But a big cooler with good airflow will also do a good job.

And if you're water temp is 200F and you want your power steering fluid to be cooler than that (I don't know what a good target is) then that won't work.

Also won't help you if your engine cooling system is close to its limit.
