need vortec advice The plateform
1967 4x4 chevy with 324 4 spd (got for 450$, strong runner)
1996 long block vortec engine (got for 350$ truck motor)
Now my questions
1. Will my friends 96 ss camaro cam work in the vortec(what will I need to adapt it, and the valve guides milled to allow it. springs work?)
2. I want to install a 700r4 without cutting the length of the drivelines.(I plan to rebuild the units so which shafts should i swap?)
3. Will the engine mounts swap over from the 327?
4. anything else besides using electric fuel pump?
5. good time to convert to 1 wire alternator?
6. taurus electric fan
How much hp will the vortec make with dual plane intake(holley), cleaned up ported heads, and the ss cam with 1.6 roller rockers?

I can answer the first one only, yes the cam from the ss will work after shortening the dowel pin on its nose to the opropriat length, after all it's another sbc hydraulic roller and shuold work on any sbc hr setup.
My advice is not to use this cam as it was designed for a ligher car and will not be torquey enough to be fun to drive on the heavy truck. Get a small duration cam with tight LSA.
