Default which pcm to use

I'm doing a 6.0L iron block 422 with a t-56 in my 1968 camaro. i have all the 6.0L truck injection/wiring/accessories do i need to get a manual truck pcm or could i use an automatic pcm?

Pretty sure you can use an automatic PCM, but it might require some reprograming from a tuner. I know a guy that used an automatic Corvette PCM with a manually controlled auto... pretty much as electronically independent as a manual would be.

Thumbs up I Don't Know, But...

I would think that one of the many computer & harness companies, such as SpearTech, etc., could answer that question with one phone call. I know what it's like, reasearching this LS1 swap stuff...Some answers you can get in minutes, other answers it takes days or weeks. I'd go right to the horse's mouth. Gar

Most of thos GM computers can be reprogrammed, I had a 2003 6 cly. #411 computer and they converted it to an LS1. It's just programming

You'll need to get the PCM re-flashed for the transmission type. SpearTech can do it for $50 bucks or so if I recall correctly.

your going to get it tuned anyways so don't worry bout it get whatever you can find the easiest/cheapest. because your going to raise your idle and so on with an auto or manual with that big of a motor.
