Default Aluminium and iron block differences

I've heard through various posts that there are wo mounting holes that are differet between the two blocks. Can anyone confirm or deny this? It seems like the iron block is missing a mounting hole for the f-body alternator bracket, and one of them is missing a hole down where the ac compressor mounts. Anyone have pics they would like to share? The reason for asking this: I'm looking for an LS1 or LQ9 for my Fiero and I'm using custom mounts that were made from an aluminium block template. I want to make sure all the mounts that I need are present if I go for an iron block motor. Thanks for the help!

yes I beleive there are some differences, but I'm fairly confident that if the hole isn't there, you can drill and tap for it

So the bosses are there, just not drilled and tapped?

Yeah I think that is just for one hole on the iron block for the low mount fbody alternator bracket. Don't know about the a/c but I would just use the truck bracket, the compressor sits in the same place.

Excellent! Due to space, I won't be using any of the stock brackets But I don't think I have anything to worry about with using an iron block now.
