Default 2nd Gen front sub frame for LS1 swap

I am looking into doing a LS1 swap in my 77 TA. I would like to replace the entire front sub frame with an after market one with tubular a arms and rack and pinion steering. Does anybody know who makes sub frames for 2nd gens?

Jack

I am considering doing the same conversion with my 1977 camaro. Since I started playing with EFI in my 01 Z-28 the old girl hasn't got much attention. I am thinking of putting a 6.0 L in it with the TH400 and 12 bolt rear that is already in the car. It currently has an old school 383 stroker in it. Runs high 11's. That front clip looks nice but my be to much $$ for my budget.
Good luck with your project.

Wayne Due does nice, high quality stuff. I think Heidts does one too.

Here's a thread on pro-touring.com discussing some of the options:

Personal opinion, if you're going to order one right now I'd strongly consider the Wayne Due C5 'vette clip. C5 geometry is a considerable upgrade from the Mustang 2 stuff used in the Martz clip. And I can personally attest that Wayne does very nice work, and is a great guy to work with.

Looking at the picture of the Martz sub frame, I would guess it is a drag racing set up based on the small diameter rotors and lack of sway bar, but why spend all the money on that when you can upgrade what you have? I have installed global west supension A-arms (whitch addresses any geometry problems) With a fast steering box (Flaming river) and QA1 coilovers and it is simply awesome!
