My GM truck driveshaft slip coupler has a vent hole down through the center, that leaks out my tranny fluid. Can I just weld that hole closed? What is/was that hole for? Or should I modify something in my 4L60E tailstock? Trannies out of a 2001 Camaro. Thanks

Found The Answer...
Called a local transmission shop & was told to simply silicone a metal beer bottle cap down inside the bottom of the slip coupler. This blocks the vent in the coupler & fit like it was made for it! Problem solved. No more leaking tranny fluid! Guess you could have it welded closed, but...I needed to go to the store for more beer anyways...

An even easier fix is jb weld over the hole.
