I have had my 91 shortbox stepside parked in my shop for over a year now with the hopes of finishing the body work and putting an LS1 in it. Well, I bought a 5.3 today on ebay. What do I need for the swap besides a wiring harness and a pcm? I allready have a 4L60E out of a 93 chevy pickup, so that will work with the 5.3. What do I have to do to get the gauges to work correctly?

Motor mounts,transmission mount,driveshaft,exhaust manifold,oil pan fitment,alternator fitment,power steering(?),fuel lines,intake,radiator connection,steam pipe connection,firewall clearance,fuel pump/filter.
I'm sure I must have left something else out..but you get the drift.

The torque converter and oil pump are different on the 93 vs the lsx based engine. The bellhousing has one bolt that will not line up but you can still mate the two. Just separate the gauge wiring from your truck harness and install the 91 sending units into the 5.3. Gm blessed us for the most part with keeping thread sizes uniform.

See my website, there's some info about my swap there.
Major things for me were wiring (all factory gauges work), AC compressor mounting, motor mounts, fuel system. Most of the stuff is pretty straightforward if you're used to this kind of stuff. Wiring can get hairy if you really want to do it right.
