5.3 thottle by wire conversion

5.3 thottle by wire conversion My buddy wants to trade a thottle by wire (truck) thottle body for my cable style. What do I need to do other than run wires and get the petal? Mine is a 2001 5.3 stock with stock harness adated for the Scout II . Will my 2001 truck Computer work for the thottle by wire or do I need the later computer? I really want it for the cruise control because I think it runs off the computer on the TBY trucks. Plus I think it will be easier to hook-up? Is it worth it?

I am swapping 6.0L into my 88 IROC. I have vette engine harness/camaro pcm. I know vette is drive by wire, camaro cable. The vette uses seperate computer for the T.B. control. I am going cable T.B. for ease of install. Sounds like you would need parts/connectors and reflash to make this work.

Just read that the box TC box is mounted on the firewall of the stock trucks looks like alot of trouble to swap to the E-thottle more money and time!
