injector woes

injector woes I just finished a 5.3 conversion into my 81 c10. I do not know how long the engine sat at the salvage yard, i do know that it sat at my shop for around 2 months with fuel and water in the fuel rail. Is there any way that I can clean these myself or am I stuck with buying new injectors?

Best advice I can give you is to take them out and have them professionally cleaned. If you know someone who can lend you a pressure cleaning system, you can try that. Buying the cleaning system will cost about as much as a professional cleaning. If the engine runs, you can try some Techron injector cleaner mixed with the fuel, but that really isnt as good as a professional cleaning. If it is done right, they put the injectors in an ultrasonic cleaner and then they put them in to a clear box/fixture so you can see the spray pattern. Last time I had it done was about 5 years ago and it cost me $120 ( ridiculous New York prices) for a set of 8.
