Default Experimental forum for hybrid projects

I see that there is a lot of interest in retrofitting LS1/LS6 powertrains into other vehicles.

We have put this forum up to see if there is interest...

I have an old Fiero with a V-8 Archie kit. You think it will fit? I have all the nessesary hardware to support a SBC install but not sure if the mounts are the same on the LS1,6 units. Are they?

V8 Archie has made LT1s and Northstar V8 fit so the LS1 should fit too and it's 70 lbs lighter.

I'm certainly interested in this area, since I do this for a living!
Not so much the installations, but custom wiring harnesses, PCM programming, complete, pre-wired engine/tranmission assemblies, custom fuel injection systems, etc. The LT1 engine package is probably our number 1 seller right now, but the LS1 is starting to catch up as they become more available and affordable. I'll be doing a complete LS1/4L60E install in a 91 Z28, as soon as we finish a 502/502 in a Caprice wagon!

I have heard of many LS1 powered projects out there.

Locally there is a guy with 68 Camaro RS with a 98 LS1 in it.

I met a guy at ETown who installed a turbocharged LS1 into a 1959 Cadillac.

Westech up in WI installed an LS1 into a Cobra kit car.

I like the idea of this forum, I wondered about putting an LS1 in both my 72vette and my 91 RS.

Great idea this forum.
