If I can get the transaxles arrangement figured out, then I plan on dropping an LS1 into one of these. All up weight should be around 1600lb's which should make for fairly lively performance.

If you think you can help, then see my thread in the Drivetrain Mods section.

Jags That Run has a great 350 kit for jags. I would love to see a LS1 in one of those. My favorite hybrid would have to be the astro van...who could see that one commin'???

I am converting my TA back to stock to sell it. I want to start on another project pretty soon. I am giving some serious thought to trying to put a stroker LS1 into a fox body mustang. That just sounds like fun to me. I would get my *** kicked at Fun Ford and at Super Chevy <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> How hard do you think it would be?

Default The LS1 in my Miatas a nice fit!

I originally was going to build a Formula Firebird hardtop for roadracing and somewhere on the journey I drove several friends Miatas Auto-Xing and beating quite a few Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds and even the ocassional Corvette. I thought all this needs is MORE POWER, POOF: LS1 T-56 MAGIC!!

No more. Fun Ford wimped out. Ford body AND engine ONLY. SuperChevy will still let you in.

Fox body has plenty of room for an LS1. I'd use the tubular front end though.

Any 55-72 shortbed Chevy/GMC Truck, Suburban, or Blazer... Or 66-77 Bronco OR Landrover Defender (I like cars too, but most of the good ones have already been suggested).

Pretty much any classic car. Classic style + modern capability = SWEET CAR .

My Favorites are:
many 30's-57 Chevrolet/Buick/Pontiac/Olds/Cadillacs and Chevy/GMC Trucks (to many to list)
57-72 Corvette
61-62 Impala
65-72 Chevelle-LeMans-GS-Cutlass
65-72 Nova
65-69 Corvair
67-69 Chevy 1/2ton trucks
67-73 Camaro/Firebird
77-81 Malibu
91-96 Caprice

And those are are just my favorites of the GM cars, then there are the ones that I just like, others that I just think would be fun (protouring widebody Chevette anybody?), and other brands. LOL I really have to get through school so I can start making money again.

I'm doing an LT1 in a 1989 XJ6. I would have done an LSX, but with everything else going into it, that was out of my price range. I'm using some parts from www.jaguarspecialties.com. All the other kits for Jags are for the older ('87 and back) XJs. I think they're excellent swappers for several reasons:

They're about the latest model cars with chrome bumpers
The speedo is mechanical, and runs off the rear diff - absolutely no changes needed to have a working speedo
The stock tach will work with a cheap resistor mod
Factory 4-wheel discs and good handling
The stock fuel system (return-style) works fine with a stock LT1 - just hook up the fuel lines!
They're dirt cheap now - my car was $44,000 new. I bought it in excellent body and interior shape for $1100! There's a lot more to be had out there cheap

By the time I'm done, I should have it up and running for about $4500 total investment. After all the bugs are worked out, I'll start adding some more power (cam, etc). I'd like to do it now while it's easy, but I just want it driveable, and that money thing keeps getting in the way.

Here ya go:
