Does the ecm use oil pressure?

Does the ecm use oil pressure? I want to pull out the oil pressure sending unit and replace it with the one from to 70 corvette so I can use the stock gauge. Does the ecm use oil pressure for anything? Will disconnecting it cause any codes?

Re: Does the ecm use oil pressure? If you are using a Camaro program (throttle cable), then no, the oil pressure sensor does not go to the PCM at all. If you are using a Corvette program (electronic throttle), then the oil pressure signal DOES go to the PCM, but it is not used for any engines running functions. The signal is sent to the PCM, then converted to a digital signal so it can be sent out on a serial data line to operate the dash gage and to send the data to the Driver Information Center. If unhooked on a Corvette, it sets a code but never turns the check engine light on. In either case, it's fine to fit your own sending unit so that your gage reads properly.
