which wiring harness to use
which wiring harness to use I'm trying to figure out which harness to use. I will be using a six speed and not sure if I should go with painless's harness or get a stock harness and send it to speartech or some one else to get configured to what I need. I've heard that 98 pcm's are a little slower reading and I know they cost more too, which is the pcm that painless uses for their harness. I will be using LS1 edit later to change some things on it and I don't want this to slow me down. This will be going into an 88 Monte Carlo SS. Any input would greatly be appreciated.

I'd say to try and get a motor with harness & PCM included.
I don't think that reworking the harness is all that difficult, and doing it yourself will really help you understand what's going on.
I bought a harness & PCM from Valvegod, that's from a 6.0L truck motor. You are going to have to match the harness to the PCM. Speartech could definitely hook you up, but if you are on a severe budget, doing it yourself will save you some bucks.

Re: which wiring harness to use The OEM modified Speartech harness works flawlessly for me and is half the cost of a new harness!

Re: which wiring harness to use 98 computor is easy to bypass vats 99 up has to be reprogramed to clear vats (no problem) street and performance or fast chips $250 or so i use stock harnes and delelt egr a/c controls 2 02 after cats ect. ck engine light will be on if you clear so stuff out of cumputor ask about light if by a after market harnes
