ls1 help needed
ls1 help needed While I am still looking for an LS1,I have some questions.
Would it not be better to get a whole car if possible?I ask because I would like to use the gauges,HVAC ,radio,cruise and column with wiper switch if possible.I know it will require work and I can get my hands on the wiring schematics so I am not worried about that.
But it seems like the obvious thing to do,yet I have not seen any info on it.Only one topic about someone using a 4th gen column.Most computer topics/conversions mention removing egr,vats and O2s,why not keep these things if you can utilize the entire electrical system and hardware from a donor?
The 4th gens already have all the gauges I need and in stock form get great mileage.Just wondering if there was any info about this.

I used all of my analog gauges just because I wanted to keep my car looking factory stock on the outside. The only thing you need is the engine, trans, engine harness and PCM.
Re: ls1 help needed My car is only gonna look somewhat stock from the outside,except for the TT2 wheels.The interior gets a 12 point cage,owner made dash,door panels and console with unknown seats.I just thought using the stock 4th gauges would be nice since it has the oil,fuel,water and volt gauges plus is cheaper than individual autometer and will work with the LS1 electronics.
