Default LS1 in 94 Z28 -- Induction Help Question

Installed the LS1 from my wrecked 98 Formula into my new project -- a 94 Z28. The install went very well. Fitment is excellent.

Here is my problem. The LS1 air induction lid from my Formula will not fit under the hood of the Camaro -- it is too tall.

I'm not an LT1 person, but probably need to find one and look into how air induction works on that car.

Anyway, for those of you who have done both, give me your ideas on something that flows well and is low enough profile to mate to the LS1 throttle body.

Thanks.

The stock air intake comes up from the driver's front fender in front of the wheel, runs along the radiator and makes a 90 degree turn into the throttle body . . . UNLESS you get a Ram Air set up from a WS6. I would get a WS6 air box and a ram air hood of some kind (LT1 WS6, LS1 SS, Suncoast Raptor, etc.).

Good luck

BigE...thanks.

The car has a cowl induction hood. Plenty of room in back, but...

Thanks for the ideas.

I'm planning on using the LT1 cold air kit when I do my swap. I'm not sure how close it comes to the TB, but the LT1 air intake elbow does fit on a LS1 TB really well even though it comes oval shaped.

BTW do you have any pics of your swap?

I was using the lt1 elbow with cone filter, worked nice. In fact, if you can find an elbow I could hook you up with the filter, IAT sensor, and 8inch(unused) extension for a better price. SLP sells it for around 150 if I remember right.

Joseph, I'll send pics by email (kinda large, zipped).

LS171, let me see if I can get my 98 Firebird lid to fit. I've been cutting on the base and trying to get to fit. I got the hood to close with a little force. I'm going to try to get the fit OK. Else I'll be looking for other solutions.
