Default Newbie to Hybrid Section

Hi guys, I have been reading LS1Tech posts for a long time, but I now have an interest in conversions.....I love my LS1 and I plan to put one in my 77 Vette - due to $$ constraints this is going to be a long term project....
My question is , anyone have experience with the corvette IRS and an LS1 - is my rear gonna blow up??? (I expect to keep my TH 350)
Thanks!!

The IRS has held up to the L88 so I don't think you'll have much of a problem with an LS1 personally.

My datsun has an R200 IRS, not as strong as the Vets. I'm having no problems with my setup. I'm making 300 RWHP with a stock LS1. One man with a grand national in his Datsun just installed the Vet IRS to hold his 475RWHP.

Thanks for the replies, keeping the vette rear will get this thing on the road faster! I feel better about it now
