Early bronco LS1 question

Early bronco LS1 question I want to put a 5.3/6.0 or LS1 in my early bronco ('70). I've found an adapter to mate my bronco transfer case to a 700r4. I know that a 4l60e is basically an electronically controlled 700r4. My question is--are they close enough that I can use a LS1/auto combo (from camaro or 2wd truck) in my bronco with just a transfer case adapter for a 700r4?

I think it would take a lot of money to upgrade my 302 to EFI and LS1 power, not to mention the weight savings and cool factor...

bronco I just finished zz4 350 into bronco. You need to be concerned with overall length of 700 and 4L60.We replaced dana 20 with atlas because we were told it was to weak for chevy power.Driveshaft angle is critical with longer 700.I also have a 72 shortbed with 5.3 vortec in it with 4L60 I like the motor far better than zz4.
