IROC/TA?

Does anyone know if there was there an IROC version of the TA produced with an LS1 in it?

I found someone who claims that he has a 97 LS1 out of an IROC. It was my understanding that LS1's where only in Vette's in 97 and were not put into F-bodies until 98. I can't find any specs or documentation anywhere saying anything about an IROC anything after the 85-90 IROC-Z.

Does anyone have any info on this?

You are correct, the LS1 wasn't in the fbodies until 1998. The IROC Race Series used the Firebird body on a full tube Winston Cup style frame and carburated small block Chevy engines.
