Default Wiring harness gurus. ? Inside

I will be swapping a 4L80E in place of the 4L60E that is in my truck. I want to use the stock computer which will need to be reflashed with the right software for the trans. I've heard that I'll have to use the wiring harness for the 4L80E because some of the wires in the main harness are different and that I'll also have to add the wiring for the input speed sensor.

Can anyone help me out on this wiring stuff? Does the transmission have a seperate wiring harness that just unplugs from the main harness? I want to make this as painless as possible because me and wiring just don't get along.

Help! Please

Thanks

John

PS - I could also just get the TCI trans. controller but, I think it would be cheaper to get it working with a stock computer.

i think that the harnesses are together and cant be separated but i might be wrong. i do know that jet performance sells a wiring harness and seperate computer that will run the 4L80E. then if you have ls1edit you could just toggle off the codes for the old tranny. hope this helps.

Hey, thanks for the input. That JET module is probably something like the TCI TCU. I would like to try and use the stock computer though since the 4L80E is an option in certain trucks.

If the wiring harness turns out to be too big a deal I will just go with one of the aftermarket trans controllers.

BTW, John @ Speartech is already on the case.

Thanks
