ls1 help need measurements. Hi to all here. Just became a member looking for some help. I'm fabricating a car from the ground up. From chassis design to ragtop, and bumper to bumper. As you can guess from being a member here I plan to drop the LS1 with the 4L60E between the rails. What I need is the actual overall lenght, width and height of these two components. I plan on laying this out on a 2 degrees angle? (Any thoughts and comments will be appreciated. As this is the first project of this caliber I'm undertaking.) I'm presently at the design stage of this project and still working out the calculations on my cad program. Looking forward to here from you, as I found there are alot of people here with the same interests as myself so with a little info I can move on to the fab process. Thanx.

Re: ls1 help need measurements. I've got some dimensions for the engine - you'll have to get the tranny dimensions from one of the other guys (I'm not using that tranny).
Bellhousing flange to:
- front of timing cover - 22"
- front of crank pulley - 26"
(this is fbody, Vette is 3/4" shorter)
- front of water pump - 28"
- front of throttle body - 24 1/2"
Center of crank to:
- bottom of fbody pan - 8"
- bottom of vette pan - 7 1/2"
- top of intake manifold - 16 1/2"
Overall width including exhaust manifolds - 26"
Deck height (crank to deck) - 9.250"
Head height (deck to valve cover) - 4.732"
Width of pan rails 10 1/2"
I've got a cad layout for the bellhousing bolt pattern if you're going to make an engine plate.
