Re: LS1 Pre-oil before start-up?
I don't know of any way to preoil the LS1. With the old distributor engines it was easy. Just use a drill and a preoiler tube thingy.
My engine had been sitting about 15 months with no oil in it. When I fired it up the first time, I squinched my eyes, turned my head, crossed my fingers and turned the key. The engine fired right up and I considered that my pre oiling.
I guess you could pull off the intake, heads and oilpan and coat everything you can see with oil, but that seems like a big pain in the ***.
