LS1 into sonoma
Making your own is not hard. I used 3/16" plate to make up mine in the Astro AWD. Had to modify the oil pan a bit and raise the engine. Also had to move the engine/transmission forward an 1 1/4" which meant I had to modify the driveshafts. In hind-sight if I had used the LS1 4L60E transmission (instead of the 4L60E in the Astro) I could have used the existing driveshafts. 95 and later 4L60E's are longer because of the different pump. Oh, well, we learn from our mistakes.
You could try Racecraft Conversions.Com and talk to Allan Hopkins. He's down to earth and knows what he is talking about. He also has a swap book he sells. There is also another site called Jags that run.
