Thinking of putting an LS1 in my 96 SS I'm getting sick of not being able to drive my car very often due to the extensive amount of mods I have done to the car. I have the opportunity to pick up a complete 01 LS1 motor and M6 tranny for a really good price. How tough would it be to do the swap?

Re: Thinking of putting an LS1 in my 96 SS If you get an LS1 crossmember, wiring harness and pcm I don't see it being really hard. I'm not sure how different the radiators are.

Re: Thinking of putting an LS1 in my 96 SS its a pain in the ***. the whole fuel system is different not to mnetion the dash back harness being different..not a good idea...its as bad as doing a v6 to ls1 which i did....

Re: Thinking of putting an LS1 in my 96 SS On the wiring side of it, we can convert the factory LS1 engine harness to be full plug-n-play with the 93-97 Camaro vehicle harness!
No interior wiring changes needed, other than the starter wire and the ALDL on pre-96 cars.
