LS1 Into Early Bronco Info

LS1 Into Early Bronco Info I am starting to gather info on installing a LS1 into an early Bronco (72). I want to do the L60E also. Advanced Adapters has an adapter to adapt the trans to the Dana 20 transfer case. Length of the LS1 engine/trans/adapter combo is 2” longer then the 302/c4 I have in there now. With out the mechanical fan, I think I can get the engine forward the 2” as to keep the transfer case drive train in the same place. Has any one seen or heard of someone doing this please let me know. Thanks for the info.

Re: LS1 Into Early Bronco Info Is the 4WD GM 4L60-E out of the question? Obviously it would require driveshaft length changes. As far as moving the engine fwd. a bit; shouldn't be an issue as long as the oil pan and crossmember aren't too happy.
