Default Tubular Headers

I was just looking over the stock FBody headers and I'm wondering if GM actually wanted to make these things restrictive? Cause they did a great job of it.

I'd like to get some shorty tubular headers but I'm a little short on space. I'm mounting an LS1 in a 3rd gen RX-7. Basically the tube headers would have to take up a similar amount of space as the stockers (just flow more) and put the exhaust flange in about the same spot.

Any suggestions?

Do you think some Corvette Z06 manifolds would fit? They have a much smoother design than the f-body counterparts. Sort of like a cast-iron Tri-Y setup.

Hooker shorties will fit in the thirdgen f-body conversion. I imagine they it will fit in the thirdgen RX7 conversion as well.

yes the hooker short tubes will fit or you can wait for hinson to finish his long tubes.
