Default pump

I have a stock 2000 camaro ls1 that is in my 55 chevy conversion. I am working on the fuel stuff, now that I have my Speartech harness. I have a complete pump unit from a 2000 camaro ls1, how can I modify the stock pump to work with my setup? I know it will work with the stock engine that is going in my . Is there a way that I can remove the in tank regulator, to run an external one?
Thanks

I'm planning on using an external pump and regulator on mine. Looks like Speed Inc. has the best deal. Check out their web site. >>>>>
Go to the online catalog and look at the fuel stuff.

You can run an external regulator... I do, but if you have the stock pump and are using it why do you want to eliminate the regulator? If you keep it in the stock location you will only have to run one line

I looked at the options in detail before I came up with my final solution. If I could have used the entire stock fuel pump and regulator assembly from the F-body I would have. It would have required that I modify the fuel tank in my car which to me seemed like a lot more of a hassle than running an external regulator.

Unless you were replacing the entire tank how would you mount an EFI type fuel sending unit into the tank of an old school car?

Ok that makes sense. I am using an adjustable one made by Mallory. You could install it close to the tank if you only want to run one line. Set it to 55 PSI. Another option (a little pricey IMO) is to use the 97-98 Y-body fuel rail PN: 12556705. I forget how much it cost, but I think it was around $200. The one I purchased was $75 through summit

Thank you for the responses, I had wanted to run the stock pump because my engine will not be modified, so I thought I could get away with it. The other reason is that I got it for cheap off of Ebay. How I had understood it was that the camaros had a regulator in tank that got a signal from the computer on how much pressure to bleed off. My harness has one wire for the fuel pump, and I did not see a wire to control the regulator. Anyway, correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for the help.
