Default Cooling fan question

I have a question and I can't seem to answer it via searching. Is there any performance difference between LT1 dual fan setups and LS1 setups? I am retro fitting the cooling fan setup into a 77 Z28 (sorry, no LSx yet )

Also, it appears the LT1 shrouds have some rectangular cutouts in them. Did they have rubber flapper pieces over these openings or were they just open?

The performance of the two fan setups is essentially the same. The LT1's did have rubber flappers that blow open when you are at speed on the highway, and stay shut in around town driving. I'm sure it was deemed not that necessary and was eliminated as a cost cutter on the LS1 fan assembly.

Cool, thanks. That is kind of what I thought. They must have anticipated airflow reversion at higher speed. I guess they didn’t experience it. Thanks again.
