Default 3rdGen Exhaust Routing

98 LS1 is now sitting in the 88 GTA. Working on getting the tranny mount modified and we're ready to bolt everything in. Couple of questions on the exhaust. Using stock 2000 manifolds.

Drivers side, looks like there may be a little clearance issue with the stud furthest to the outside. Thinking I may grind the head off just to give it a little room, any other ideas?

Using stock manifolds what's the best routing from there back. Replacing Cats with just flanges/pipe that should put ball flange in almost the same location as with the cats. Original exhaust went all the way over to passenger side and then back from there but wondering if I can do something more straight back and still have ground clearance. I have both original y-pipes (88 and 2000) to work with.

Pictures would be great too if you have any examples.
