Default ls1 in 97' sonoma

well, i was sent here buy a guy i talked to over the phone about a ls1 swap in my sonoma, he said i would be able to get some information about the pulley situation in the front on the engine. he was saying that i had to swap brackets and such from an lt1 for the alternator and powersteering on the ls1 to make it work and fit properly, assuming that the alternator is probably going to hit my steering box. just wondering if anyone had some info on that, and where i can get what i need to do this. any help would be appreicated, thanks Austin.

p.s. 97' sonoma 4.3vortec w/5speed. converting to 99' ls1 w/4l60e.

most just use the vette accessory setup since it sits higher up on the drivers side.

And to be clear, it HAS to be LS1 Vette stuff. LT1 & LS1 stuff does not interchange.

The only trick with the C5 stuff is finding it for reasonable money. Seems like everybody who's parting out a C5 Vette wants to sell the accessories with the engine & wants too much for the complete package (its a vette engine, therefore it must be better than a plain old camaro engine, right....) Parts are available new, so its not that big a deal, but it can get kinda pricey.

Any C5 or C6 vette access drive will work.
C5 = 1997-2004 vettes (5th Generation)
C6 = 2005+ vettes (6th Generation)

Also note that you need everything included in the list that Jake put up. The AC compressor / bracket is different (but you may be able to make an F-body work, dunno about that). The harmonic balancer is different. There are a few common items like bolts & some idler pulleys.

The f-body and C5 water pump are the same. Truck pump is different. The LS2 C6 pump is shorter than the LS1 pump by a couple inches. Might be worth the extra money for 2" of radiator / electric fan clearance.
