8.1 into 84 K10?

8.1 into 84 K10?

has anyone tryed to put a 8.1 into a older style truck (84 4x4). I am looking and I can get a 8.1 for the same price as a 6.0. Just wondering how much of a pain in the *** it would be?

So now you want a big block. or 6.0L

Man I would stick with a 6.0L. But A 8.1 is a very tempting idea. It would be no harder than a 5.3 or 6.0.

How much lift and what size tires do you plan on running? I would go 6.0L 4L80. For 35's and down. You will have tons of toeque with the 8.1 !

Its a work horse, I have brand new 31/10.50/15 all terrains on it. I think a 8.1 would be cool and make tons of power for plowing, towing, and hauling stuff around

I was gonna go with building a 383 as you know but for a little more money I can have the convience of EFI, gas mileage, power, starting in cold weather.

and a LSx motor

6.0L save on weight. Plus there are a ton more performance upgrades and options for the 6.0. With a 8.1 the stock axles and hubs and stub shafts my break under that much torque unless you upgrade to 3/4 ton stuff. Or you might just end up spining you wheels with out any traction!
