Default Exhaust manifold help needed

I have a sandrail with a 2000 LS1 in it with 1999 exhaust manifolds. I want to get some shorty headers just for looks. I know they won't add more than about 5 HP, but I just want to upgrade the looks.

Are the 99 and 00 exhaust to cat/tail-pipe angle and flange type the same, as in a direct swap? Both have a 3-bolt flange.

I am not sure of the answer to your question, but I do have a set of used Edelbrock F-body shorties that I bought for my swap, but they have not worked out. I'll sell them for $125 plus shipping. I can provide pictures if you are interested. These seem to match up to the 2000 LS1 F-body manifolds that came with my motor. They have a 3 bolt flat flange on the drivers side and a two bolt flange with a down pipe for the passenger side.

PM or post if you are interested

Pat

Those won't match up to my tail pipe flange on the passenger flange. Thanks anyway.

OK. If your primary motivation is for appearance vs performance, have you considered removing the heat shields and having the manifolds ceramic coated? I would think that would give it a very clean look and not be terribly expensive. Might also have some performance benefits too.

I think my ceramic coated manifolds lower my engine compartment temp quite a bit, might even help the power too.

Already done that. Pardon the mess. Just got done changing the can and lifter. Haven't cleaned it up yet.

These are 99 manifolds on a 00. I know the 00 manifolds give more power, but being cast, they don't clean up like the 99 do.
