Default 5.3L into Third gen

Has anyone swapped a truck engine into a third gen? I'm going to be installing the 5.3L that came out of my truck into a 87 v6 Camaro.

What I'd like to know is, will the truck oil pan work, and is there room for the truck accessories, its not going to have a/c.

If the hood doesn’t clear the intake, then we will just put a cowl on it.

Also will truck exhaust manifolds work.

What are you going to do with your truck?

I bought a 6.0L for my truck a year and a half ago. It came with the harness and everything, so I don't need much to make the 5.3L run (needs PCM, MAF,starter, alt, etc)

should be prety much just like a LS1 swap, the pan will work but it will hang down pretty low, so a LS1 pan would prolly be a good idea. I think you'll have to run the LS1 manifolds, other then that everything should be the same. I'm almost sure the manifold will clear since there is alot more room under the hood on the 3rd gen.

It would be nice if the hood will clear, but its got to be close that intake is pretty tall. I was looking at the pan again, it is deep, it hangs like 3" past the bottom of the bellhousing, I guess we could chop the sump down a little and weld it up, if we can't find a cheap f-body pan.

My friend did this swap, 5.3 into an 87 trans am. The truck pan physically fits but sits too close to the road for comfort. He used the fbody pan. Dont remember which accessories he used, but im pretty sure they were fbody things also.

The car with the stock 5.3 cam is fast. He keeps up with ls1s... I cant figure it out. Its a good swap.
