Default 72 Nova temp gauge??

With the LS1 in it, I have the factory temp sensor. What does everyone do to put a gauge in the car? electric? can it be splices into the temp sensor?
thanks.

Put a secondary temp sensor in the passenger side head. That's where I put mine and it runs the stock '70 gauge. The PCM needs the LS1 sensor to run correctly but I doubt you could run an aftermarket gauge off of it.

I used my stock gauge, the LS1 sender output is serial data so it won`t work for any old style gauges. There is an extra 12mm X 1.50 hole in the rear of the passenger side head. Put your stock sender in there, Ya I know the stock sender is probably 3/8" NPT like mine was . You can either drill and tap the head 3/8" NPT like John B. did, or I turned my sender down in a lathe and used a 12mm x 1.50 die.
