Default Thermostat Housing
Hi,

I've just fitted the CSR thermostat housing, does the original GM stat come apart or is it a complete unit...in which case does anyone know which thermostat fits into the CSR housing?

its a one peice unit, however the newwer truck thermos are 2 seperate peices. I dont know if they will work with the CSR housing or not, but thats where I would start looking.

i thought I read somewhere that it uses the old sbc style thermostat because they are pretty cheap/readily available? But im not sure

I read the same thing that the csr one uses the old style thermostat,im ordering the same one,motor looks great too.

It uses a standard SBC thermostat.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I have just purchased the CSR neck and was about to purchase an LS-1 thermostat. This saved me some time and fustration. Thanks!

It's CSR, not C5R and their website is here.
