Default help on gto ls motor............

benn readin this forum for a couple of weeks now.look great, alot of help from members. but i have a question concerning the gto motor setup- anybody swap in this setup yet? how do the accesorys compare with f body or truck setups? dont have anybody to compare them to. debating on scoopin this motor.........also gettin elec fans, radiator, everthing complete.any info?thanx

I believe the accessories are set up the same as an F-body..

All the LS21 accessories are "sucked in" a little closer to the front of the motor although they look very much like F body stuff. That's why I had to pull the LS2 water pump pulley forward on the shaft by almost 1/2" when I installed it on my LS1 with F body accessories.

oscar, you are saying u think the gto setup is even closer to the block than an f body setup? what about the actual location of the accesories...

Yes, the GTO setup IS even closer to the block than an F-body, I just went out and looked again (advantage of being a dealer service manager!). The setup is the same on all the LS2 motors.

The GTO A/c Compressor also has the ports sticking out toward the side instead of the rear exit ports like the F body. I ran into clearance problems with it, and had to use a F body compressor. The F body compressor is also a smaller diameter unit as well.
